Serenity and Aria were out, enjoying themselves on another date. They have been together for some time now, and every once in a while Concussion would try and ruin their relationship, but Aria would always put him in his place and continue to enjoy Serenity's company.
Today, however, would not be like any of the others. They don't tend to be the same when you run into the future version of your boyfriend.
Standing before the both of them was basically David Blake dressed entirely in black, and a wicked smile on his face. He looked at Aria, and that smile immediately changed into a frown.
"I didn't expect I'd run into you so quickly. Ah, well, I guess fate has a sense of humor after all."
Serenity stared at his doppelganger, not quite sure what to think just yet. "Who are you?"
"Am I really this stupid?" The black clothed David responded. "I'm you from the future. A future where everything is destroyed. By me."
Serenity blinked, not liking what he was hearing. "And are you here to warn us, or because you intend to do harm?"
"Little from column A, little of column B." He responded, taking a step forward, his focus shifting onto Aria. "It's been so long since I saw you... more beautiful than I remember."
He stroked Aria's cheek, and Aria shuddered. This was the first time somebody other than Xeranad got this amount of fear out of her. He looked into his eyes and saw the same thing she saw when she looked into Xeranad's eyes: cold, dark, twisted, malicious, and destructive.
Serenity stepped in between the two. "Stay away from her."
Concussion laughed. "Oh really? Do you honestly think you stand a chance against me? I'm you, Serenity, but from the future. While you're still an amateur when it comes to using your abilities, I've pretty much got it all figured out. And if you stand in my way, I'll destroy you too."
Serenity listened, and hung back for a moment. He was right. Even if they are the same person, this Concussion has had plenty of time to make the most of his powers, and could easily defeat every person in Angel Falls with just a wave of his hand. He shuddered, not sure what to do.
That's when Aria looked into his eyes and asked. "Are you alright? You look worried."
"I AM worried." He didn't want to admit it, but he was.
"Don't be." Aria responded.
"Huh?" Serenity looked into her eyes, and she smiled back. "How can you be so cheerful?"
"Because you have something he doesn't have... and you're talking to her."
Serenity blinked again, and realized that no matter what happened... Aria was there to support him. "Alright."
Concussion watched this display and scoffed. "It's like watching some bad Saturday morning cartoon bullshit." His face twisted into a disgusted grimace. "You infuriate me to no end. I am going to enjoy tearing you to shreds and scattering your remains across this city, right before reduce this place to smoke and cinders, along with everyone in it."
Serenity scowled. "As long as I stand before you, that won't happen."
"You're right. Looks like I'll have no other choice but to bring you to your knees first, and then I'll make you watch as annihilate your girlfriend right in front of you, with you powerless to stop it." Concussion smiled. "I'm going to enjoy every moment of this."
